Overview for Sumo Robot
Scenario: The entertainment around the world are always on the look out for ways to come up with new forms of entertainment one such way had been to use robots such as Sumo Wrestling which is fast becoming a very popular form of entertainment and yet at the same time it serves as a opportunity for companies to gain funding to improve robots abilities to be able to preform tasks that human being can do! In recent times we have seen in many futuristic films where the whole armed forces are made up of robots such as in Star Wars. A robotic company has approached you, requesting your assistance in creating a competitive robot for the World Sumo Wrestling Competition held in America each year!

Criterion A: Inquiry and Analyzing
Strand 1. Explain and justify how Sumo Robots can help us to understand and develop robots in the future?
Sumo robots can help us develop, improve and create new robots because they do not cost a lot to make and are easy to modify and adapt to certain needs and whatnot. They also help us develop new techniques of creating or programming robots like drones without actually spending a lot of money on the project. For example a small prototype sumo bot could be made instead of actually creating a really expensive drone that might not work or might not meet what requirements it needs to complete its job.
Strand 2. Mind Map
Strand 3 Weebly slideshow
Robot 1:
This robot gave me ideas because of its ramp/bumper on the front of it which i might incorporate into my own robot. To keep my robot safe by keeping the vital parts of the robot covered and safe.
Robot 2:
This robot gave me an even better idea because its ramp/bulldozer claw which gave me an idea that i could build onto my own robot to flip over other robots when they rush me.I also like the bulkiness of the robot because it will keep me from getting tipped over easily by other robots. Its treads also adds a lot of stability to the robot.
Robot 3:
The bumper looks like a forklift which gave me an idea of making something like this, because the bumper forklift would make it possible by latching onto the bottom of the robot and keeping it far away from me and then it could go up toppling over the other robot.

Criterion B: Developing Ideas
Some examples of EV3 Sumo Robots.
Strand 1. Suggest some design specifications from your research (from Criterion A) which you are thinking of including into your Sumo Robot Wrestler.
The kinds of programming I will be able to do with my sumo robot:
- Making it go and stop.
- Making it turn.
- Making it go straight and stop.
- I can make it turn on and off.
- Color Sensors.
- Light Sensors.
- Through my phone Bluetooth via my phone.
- Programming it to move and whatnot in a certain situation like a pre-set program.
- Blade/bumper
- Hooks
- Forks
Strand 2. Present a Three feasible design ideas, which can be correctly interpreted by others
Chosen Idea
I picked design 3 because it had the best offensive and protective capabilities and it`s quite fast so I would not get caught by the other robot, and even if I did there is plates that protect the wheels of my robot, so that is why I picked this robot.
Things I need for the robot.
- I would need different types of lego bricks.
- I would need axles.
- I would need wheels.
- I would need beams.
- I would need an EV3 brainstorm.
- I would need pegs and connectors.
Criterion C: Developing a solution
Strand 3. Follow the plan to create the solution, which functions as intended explain changes made to the chosen design and the plan when making the Rescue Robot.
I made the robot with out much defense or offense capabilities, so I think I would have changed the robots design so that the robot would be able to hook on more things such as sensors, bumpers and engine parts. I would also change the design so the robot is more bulky so it does not get thrown over easily, because my robot was not the strongest robot, although it was not a shrimp. I would also change it so that the sensors would be more effective because in my robot they were not that effective.
